Day Wedding Cake course – 26-27.06
In this workshop, you learn how to decorate a tiered wedding cake and learn the best way to stack the tiers (without the tears!).
Day One – Baking
You will learn how to bake our signature sponge cakes and discuss through flavour options. We will teach you about proportions and sizing up recipes to make your tiered cakes.
You will also learn how to bake macarons, in order for us to use them as part of our decoration.
Day 2 – Decorating
The real fun starts here! We'll be making our signature Swiss meringue buttercream from scratch, with the addition of meringue kisses. We will teach you how to layer and coat your cake with buttercream whilst focusing on straight and smooth edges. We'll go through the different options of adding colours and textures to our cakes.
Then everything will come together as we teach you have to safely and securely stack your cakes. We'll use the macarons, meringues and chocolate ruffles as decorations as well as white chocolate ganache drips and fresh flowers.
After this workshop, you will walk away with a significant confidence boost in stacking tiered cakes and a gorgeous cake suitable for any wedding or celebration!
Each participant will decorate their own cake and take it home to enjoy!
You will be working on pre-made cakes.
